Data Protection

Relevant legislation: Data Protection Act 2018 West Sussex Wellbeing of which Crawley Wellbeing is part, is a service developed in partnership with and funded by West Sussex County Council Public Health and the District and Borough Councils within West Sussex. We, Crawley Wellbeing, collect your data for the following reasons:

1. To fulfil our contractual obligations to West Sussex County Council. The information we share is anonymised so is not personally identifiable.

2.  To hold a record of your contact with us in order to provide you with a wellbeing service.

3.  To contact you for follow up at 3 and 6 months after you have stopped using the service and any of our programmes to see how you have got on following your experience with the wellbeing programme.

4. Some of our programmes are run by other organisations, if we refer you to one of these we share your details in order for them to contact you.

5. To refer you to another organisation for support and information should you agree you need help from a different service that we do not offer.

6. To notify your GP or other health professional of the outcome of the wellbeing programme should we have received a referral from them on your behalf.

Who will see your data?

Within Crawley Borough Council only those staff within the Wellbeing service will have access to secure password protected databases that hold your personal information. Any hard copies of forms or other paperwork containing your personal information are stored in locked cabinets accessed only by staff within the Wellbeing service. The lawful basis for holding your personal data is as follows:

1. Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

2. Processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of a data subject or another person.

3. Processing is necessary for compliance with legal obligations.

How long will we store your data?

We will store your data for a maximum period of 3 years from the point of collection.

Your rights

You can change your mind at any time about us holding and using data in the way we have described above. However, please note, this may impact on how you can use the service.
